A Palette Dome Set Plum will be given to the Winner of the Photo Contest

Created in Kyoto, this aroma diffuser is made of an unusual material. When essential oil of lavender is applied to the round palette, it changes from being white to transparent. Once it becomes see-through, a picture of red and white flowers on a plum tree is revealed. The device uses neither water nor electricity to fill a room with its pleasant fragrance. In addition to plum, drawings available include pine, cherry, and autumn leaves. A set that includes palette, oil and container, costs 14,800 yen.

DUAL HANKO/デュアル・ハンコ

A 16.5-millimeter-wide hanko to be given to the winners of the Photo Contest and the Visitors’ Caption Prize

“Hanko” stamps used by Japanese people in place of a signature are a popular souvenir with foreign visitors. Typical hanko only have two to five Japanese characters inscribed on them, whereas this hanko allows for more characters in letters from the Roman alphabet. A 16.5-millimeter-wide hanko goes for 3,000 yen, whereas an 18-millimeter-wide hanko costs 3,500 yen. The hanko comes with a lid and a pouch.

A set of “Engimono” (Lucky Items) and “Kabuki” will be given to the Photo Contest Prize Winner and Visitors’ Caption Prize Winner

Folded into Japanese cultural motifs, these sets of origami paper are both fun and decorative. There are six forms in the “Engimono” set including, daruma, sea bream and Mt. Fuji. The “Kabuki” set includes renjishi (red and white lions that typically appear during a kabuki play). The package can be transformed into a stand to display these decorative works on. The instructions are in Japanese and English. The price for each set is 500 yen.
